This had an almost noir vibe that I really enjoyed! In terms of mixing, don't be too hard on yourself :) I'm not an expert, but I would suggest bringing the melody more front and center - it felt kind of far away as I was listening while the drums were more central in the mix. Maybe also choosing a stronger voice for the melody, the ones you chose tended to be softer and have more reverb. Once the groove with the claps came in I wanted to dance!
Everything seem like at the same place, on the same plan, so it stay a little plain, but understandable if you don't know how to master yet.
But can't advise you enough to look a little bit in mastering. Even without diving too deep in it it would send your track to next lvl (like playing with panning, EQ, and sound automation)
I love the melody you came with!
Great work!
Thank you for the advice I appreciate it greatly!
I don't know how to mix or master either :D
It does feel a little bit muddy in the sections where everything comes together - feels like there should be one element that really punches out or something. But it's groovy, sounds nice, and feels like it would really fit the game! Really cool stuff!
Also why's he looking at me like that : {
Thank you I appreciate the feedback! Also I don't know how the album cover got there, he scares me too
I like it. If you can pan the close hit-hat a little more to left or right. Same with the leads synths, sometimes they are lost in the mix. Try to use EQ to cut or lower frequencies where they are not needed. For example, Hit-hats and Cymbals don't need a lot of low frequencies and leads are usually in the middle range.
Beyond that is a solid song.
Thank you, I'll try messing with the EQing and panning, thanks for the advice.
