  • Clever blend of boardgame and trivia.  Strong sense of urgency once you realize you're being hunted by an eagle!  Educational as you play, learning interesting facts about turtles.  Appreciated the gameplay mechanic of repeat attempts at wrong answers until you narrow it down to the correct one -- this reinforces the learning aspect.

Would be easy to expand the format to include any number of nature subjects beyond just turtles.  Great for educating the kids.

  • I found out I knew more about turtles than i realized. This would be a great base to build a range of educational games from.

Hey! Your game was turtloid themed too! :'D Im really surprised by how much I DIDNT know about turtles and even more surprised by some of the fact I DID already know.

Im not sure if there was sound but the webgl version was silent (at least for me anyway). Im not sure if I just missed the instructions explaining how long a turn was, but that timer would have worked much better as a countdown timer for intuitive purposes, sometimes I found myself run out of time without realising and it got a little stressful when reading :)

Developer

There was no sound in this version, I have made an updated version that has some sound in it and a couple of fixes (including your countdown timer suggestion!). Thanks for the feedback dude!

Since some of your turtle facts are very specific, you could also add a hint system, (say get a hint for getting 2 correct answers in a row or maybe just a limited number of hints per board) that reveal which card is the 'bad' answer. also often all three answers were fairly similar so even knowing the fact it wasn't clear which answer would send you back and which one would let you retry

Developer

Hmmm I will think on the hint system and figure out a good way of implementing it!

In regards to your other query, if you know the question then you are guaranteed to move forward a tile. Some of the questions will give you an opportunity to retry and some will not. WIth the ones that do, whether you move or not is usually based on how close you were to the original answer. That's why its a trivia game! :P

Thank you for the feedback.

having to press space to start turns seems unnecessary when you could have set it to any key to achieve the same effect of letting players have control over the timer without the awkwardness of needing to hit a specific key. this would also have allowed players to play completely without a keyboard

Developer

That is a great idea, I will implement it in the next update!
