I didn't expect this solo project to be so jam packed with content and personality. it isn't just random in every spot, you have consistency with the characters such as the star people, the silhouettes, the frogs, the skeletons, the cows, and probably some more I didn't mention. I really love the silhouettes because it reminds me of my own dreams where people or animals are only identified by their outline.
Another thing I like about it is how it has new experiences each time you visit a world. walls can be different colors, characters can appear or disappear, the time can change from day to night, and pathways can open up that you never saw before. You might take a trip through a dozen modified worlds before finding its original counterpart, which feels like finding treasure after searching through rubble.
I think by far my favorite parts of the game are its events that can wake you up. it can get annoying to try finding your way back but the shock value gives the world incentive to be explored despite its seeming lack of progression.
This is a top tier surrealist game to me and way more than a "retro 3D horror game". Mad respect to lsddev for making this! Also a little tip for better immersion, please play it at night when you're tired enough to fall asleep in your chair.
holy shit i absolutely adored this. just delightful. i particularly liked all of the skeletons!!
I don't even know how many hours I've played of this anymore. I remember when this was first streamed by Vinesauce and I loved this game ever since.
The environments were a joy to explore. The music in the levels really make them memorable. There is a very nice mix of levels that conjure a wide range of feelings. It doesn't seem to matter how long I have played, but I find something new every time. A new route that I didn't think of prior or by simply jumping off the level.
There are no real negatives that I can think of. There are very few bugs that I have witnessed.
It is a great laid back dream exploration game. I've enjoyed it immensely.
