This is a crazy impressive game with great mechanics! I got stuck on Vangelos though... I found the bug spray but it seems like all available routes lead down into the screen-distorting-health-draining cold zone, so I'm not sure how to progress.

Hey! Thanks for playing!
There are two ways to progress. One of them is going to Prometheus, another planet, and make progress there.
Another way is checking every cave and area above the cold level ;)
I think that dead-end at the bottom is a good place to check.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the tips. I checked every available path and I'm pretty sure they're all either empty or lead down to the cold zone. (map attached)

I did go back to Cornolia and unlock Prometheus, which I explored for a while. I got to the bottom and killed the boss, then the lava(?) started to rise. I picked up the spark shot on the way up which let me blast through TNT, but the lava kept rising, so I had to keep climbing up. The lava rose so far that it covered up the spaceship, and I couldn't use the spaceship anymore, so it seemed like I was stuck. There was another droplet-shaped upgrade that I could reach above the lava, but it said "Another item is required first" and I couldn't get it. Eventually I died in the lava and respawned, but it loaded the save before I killed the boss/got the spark/raised the lava, so I guess touching the ship while it was submerged in the lava didn't actually save despite showing the icon. I'm pretty sure there was at least one bug involved in all of that but I don't know what exactly. Regardless now I'm stuck on Prometheus too.

Hey there! I'll tweak the design a bit so it's easier to understand. After you kill the boss you'll get the temperature expansion in the tunnel that leads outside. That item unlocks the heat-proof expansion (the one that says that you need another item before),

The spark shot lets you ignite the TNT, and at the right end of Prometheus, you'll find some TNT that will lower the level, letting you enter your ship.
That's where it both saves your progress and go back to Vangelos and continue with the progress.
You gotta trust me and start exploring that dead-end I told you in Vangelos to unlock the cold-proof expansion, letting you explore the rest.
Hope it helps!

Hmm, by briefly venturing into the cold area on Vangelos I found an expansion that looks like a snowflake, but it says I need another item for that one too... maybe that's gated behind the Prometheus temperature expansion that I couldn't find?

Check the area highlighted in red, that's where you'll find the expansion, afterward check the area in blue and then in green.

Thanks, that helped me figure it out. My issue was that during the climb after the Prometheus boss I was taking the right route instead of the left one you highlighted, so I was missing the temperature upgrade and the minimap. It's confusing that there's a path like that which lets you survive at first but actually makes the level unwinnable until you die and restart. I was also confused by having to go down into the scary damage area on Vangelos to collect the needed upgrade there, and especially that it required you to beat Prometheus first (so you had the temperature upgrade) to pick up the cold upgrade. I think I beat the game now (I got all three triforce shards but no clear ending, not sure if there's anything else left to do). Thanks for all the help, and for making the game! I really enjoyed it overall despite getting stuck.

edit: actually, I think there might be a real ending if I figure out how to get up through the green-walls room on Cornolia... I think I'm still missing one more upgrade, I'll keep looking

edit2: ok now I actually beat it for realsies. Wow, what a great game!
