interesting game, pretty tough. I’m no genius wordsmith, but try as I did, I couldn’t come up with any words that worked as spells: I just learned from the suggestions. Not sure if a full list would spoil the fun, but it might give me a chance to study and basically try to not die to easily.
It was difficult for me to gauge when I should just smack something to death and when I need to summon a minion. Tried to kill a giant with poison and it didn’t go too well - one snake got one-shot, another attempt meant I had to be the punching bag. Maybe I need to snatch letters and flee downwards a bit more.
Haha, no, it was 4 days ;) The jam lasts 10 days, and you choose 7 consecutive days to work (but I could only do 4).

If I pursue this idea further, I want to try out mechanics for learning words, but the I think the game would need to include a LOT more words for that to work. They need to be scripted one by one, so that wasn't feasible for the jam, so i added the bestiary / spellbook and suggestions.
Fair, the game is in a bit of weird spot with the balance of summons. I haven't decided the on a sulution to that yet.
