  • Anna showed some nice exploration of different location ideas and discussion of why she chose the arcade theme.

She demonstrated a good eye for mood boards and concept sketches, detailing the different assets and composition, which was great to see, some of these in colour, to get an idea of what the textures could be, would have been a good next step.

Her block out was well thought out and the modelling looks neat, it's a great effort for a weeks work and would be nice to see how this could develop with more time.

  • Just keep pracitising to learn the processes more!  doing well

  • Whilst the assets themselves (arcade machines, air hockey table bin and bag) are good the main problem with the scene is the wide empty space of the walls, floor and ceiling. This may be due to lack of time but it would have been good to see a floor texture, perhaps an old patterned retro carpet. Where edges meet eg. the wall and ceiling some trims could have hidden the hard edges. These could have been skirting boards and ceiling boards. Also some design to hide blank space such as posters on the walls, light fittings on the ceiling would help this space to feel more real.

Along with this I would recommend looking at duplicating the current arcade machines so that the scene looks more like a busy arcade. You could have some in front of the pillar and also at the top of the stairs behind the glass railing against the wall. It sometimes is good to have duplicates of assets in the distance to give a sense of depth and scale.  You could try grouping some of these so some machines are directly next to each other. Assets often look nice when grouped together. To add variety you could also have some spaced out.
