Nice concept but it felt out of my control for the most cause if I was stuck with a card like the hero that drains multiple and cant get a card to start adding to that race then It's an instant loss. Maybe instead of continuously adding cards to the deck perhaps at a limit have the new card swap out with a card currently in your hand? This allows so that at least if you can't counter a card you can dismiss it and stall you're death longer.
