Cool idea and the music tempo changing mechanic was great. Could not get used to choice of controls personally so I didn't do very well. But I still liked it.

Cool idea, I like the implementation of speeding and slowing the music.

Neat concept, I like the idea of music speeding up with the player. Did you make your own engine? That’s cool! This game is hardly 1-bit, though.

Developer(+1)

yes, I made my engine, but it's a very small/simple one.

I think it complies with the 1 bit constraint because alpha blending are allowed.

While it is allowed, the sprites themselves have shading; you can see it on the diamond: https://v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/html/8532817/atlas.png

It can be fixed easily, though; just dither it with Aseprite or any other pixel art tool.

Ok, my bad.
I thought it was OK since the "shading" is just applying one color over the over with a 50% (or so) opacity.
I will know for the next 1 bit Jam :-D.

I like the perspective of the game, its the first orthographic game I've seen in this jam. However, the gameplay gets a bit stale over time.

Thanks for your comment.

I first wanted a gameplay with several levels (and different palettes) but in the end the timing was too short for me. :-)
