These are 40 computer games, tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), journaling games, or live action role-playing (LARP) games where the player character is inherently nonhuman, and that is important to the story and play. Try out being a ghost, an elf, a dragon, a robot, a plant, a car, or even the number three!
If you want to play as nonhuman animals, of species that live or have lived on Earth, then see my other collection: "Animal protagonists."
I hand-curate these collections of other people's creations to celebrate and bring attention to them, as part of a series of curated collections of itch.io creations for alterhumans. If you want to ask me to add or remove your creations from my collections, or if you have other comments, you can email me.
