This is a collection of 100 creations by other people-- computer games, tabletop games, novels, zines, and more-- that are about plurality, have plural characters, or have plural themes. What do I mean by plurality? This definition is an excerpt from "A list of some alterhuman identities and groups," an article that I helped co-author:
"Plurality (or multiplicity) is an umbrella term for all experiences and identities in which more than one entity, consciousness, or pseudo-consciousness exists within one physical body, for systems who are or can be diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (DID), formerly called multiple personality disorder (MPD), as well as systems who do not meet those diagnostic criteria. Plurality and multiplicity as terms have always been inclusive of systems regardless of their origin or diagnoses. Some plural systems have members who aren’t human or who are fictional characters or species. Multiplicity can be an interchangeable synonym for plurality, or multiplicity can mean a form of plurality in which more than one person, self, or identity is within a single body."
This collection is part of a series of curated collections of itch.io creations for alterhumans. As that link explains about in more detail, alterhuman is an umbrella term that can potentially include plural systems as well as members of these groups and identities who share some commonality. In particular, plural systems may be interested in other collections I made for fictives, for nonhumans, and more things that plurals and other alterhumans might tend to like. For example, character creators for making profile images of their system mates. I curated all of these collections by hand.
Some other people have made collections of plural creations on itch.io, too:
WARNING: Many creations in this collection contain troubling subject matter about dissociation and surviving traumatic experiences, so please use caution as you explore it. I mark the creations with content warnings as I can, but I can't label the ones that I haven't played/read all of yet. Even the ones that I do label might not warn for everything.
If you want to ask me to add or remove your creations from my collections, or if you have other comments, you can email me.
"A short zine discussing plurality, twinners, introvects, cosmological models, and coincidences. My contribution to the push for more alterhuman personal essays that discuss concepts relevant to us."
Unrated. I haven't read this.
As described by the author: "A short zine about the system I inhabit and our mental health conditions, with some fun guest stars!"
A zine about literally having a world inside one's mind, also known as a headspace, which is a common experience for plural systems.
"essays on: ... Dealing with lively, volatile, or downright aggressive headspaces! Creating defenses individually, as a group, or with the landscape itself! Building headspaces with aphantasia! (AKA: inability to visualize.) Never be bored again! Meet your mindscape and make friendly! 32 pages ... most (but not all) of this content is available for free reading online"
Medium: Book, a 16-page mini zine. There is a version for reading on screen, and a version for printing and folding.
Genre: Nonfiction essay.
Length: 1000 words.
About: As described by the authors, the Sol System, this zine
"touch[es] briefly on the history of the Sol System, the framework that arose around their multiplicity, and their relationship with the plural communities at large. It discusses some of their feelings about the terminological and binary arguments that often dominate these spaces, and the ways they often feel viewed by and view other multiple systems.
"If you came up to the Sol System asking, 'What's in your pants your origin label, are you a boy or a girl endogenic or traumagenic?' then this is the document for you."
Rated G. A short electronic zine.
As described by the authors, LB Lee:
"In 2020, an organizer for the Plural Positivity World Conference came up and said something along the lines of, 'Hey, LB, wanna do something about plural history for our conference?' They said, 'Sure, why not, how hard can that be?' and immediately learned the folly of their arrogance.
"This is both the hour-and-a-half long video (subtitled) made in 2020 and the 48-page zine. All of the content can be found for free elsewhere; this is just if you want to throw us some bucks for it. It’s intended as a brief, incomplete, inglorious history of just some of the people under the many-selved umbrella in America over the centuries: double/dual consciousness, multiple personality, dissociative identity disorder, soulbonders, empowered multiples, natural multiples, the genic slapfight, etc. It’s also meant to be a decent vaccination against bullshit and lies peddled by jerks!"
"A zine about plurality, protection, and tikkun olam as given to/within oneself. This file is a digital reading copy (i.e. not really formatted for printing) but you can print it if you'd like. The text is screen-readable."
Content: Rated R, for adults 18+ only. I haven't played this, and the content warnings on the project page aren't specific, only saying "warning for intense and explicit content." The creators submitted this game to the Toxic Yuri VN [Visual Novel] Jam. Toxic Yuri is a fiction genre about women in unhealthy or abusive relationships which are meant to be entertaining to readers rather than necessarily authentic queer representation.
Medium: A type of interactive story or computer game, a visual novel. As described by its creators, it has "a hand selected soundtrack for your listening pleasure," "116 sprites," and "28 cgs and backgrounds made by a real artist!"
Length: 35-40k words.
About: As described by the creators,
"Zuzka's life is crumbling around them. They wake up with bruises they can't explain, and they are barely able to keep it together anymore. Just what lies in wait for them?"
The project page says this is "the DID/plural rep you have been waiting for."
One of the reviews by a plural system describes how this game feels like authentic plural representation, and suggests it as an effective cautionary tale for plural systems:
"If you are a plural system and you're struggling with internal dysfunction like this, you've gotta make it a serious priority to get all of your members on the same page. I mean it—ALL of them! You need to communicate, collaborate, and compromise, not try to hog the front or repress your fellow headmates! Otherwise, it's gonna be YOU chained up in some rapist cokehead's basement next, doing a lot of painful finding out after one of your errant alters fucked around!"
Content: Rated R. The project page gives a list of specific content warnings.
Medium: Book, novel.
Genre: Science fiction and erotic romance.
Length: Full-length novel, ~90k words.
About: As described by the author, this book is
"set in a universe centered around petplay dynamics between plant aliens and the various other species of the galaxy. It stars a trans, plural, butch lesbian protagonist and the most pathetically subby house plant who jaunts around in fake glasses and a lab coat to complete her doctor getup. Along the way, meet a cast entirely composed of other queer characters—humans, plants, bugs, and otherwise!"
(Emphasis added.)
Content: Unrated.
Medium: Journal comics.
About, as described by the author:
"My first official zine release of 2025!
"It's compiling ~70 pages of comics and some drawings from Nov-Dec of 2024, all focusing on talking with my headmate Momo and communicating with them; whether it be my worries, anxieties, or just trying to get to know them better.
"Plurality is a wild thing and hopefully these comics can help any other people struggling with their own newly emerging headmates, even in spite of these drawings just being my own experiences.
"Even if you don't have a system, I think this is a neat look into my mind when it comes to how talking to others in my head works for me.
"Hopefully all the text can be read okay... please let me know what you think!
"Thank you for taking the time to check this out :>"
Content: Rated G.
Medium: Additional instructions for tabletop role-playing games.
Genre: Science fiction and fantasy. These describe paranormal abilities for plural characters, such as shapeshifting and psychic powers.
About, as described by the creators:
"These two playbooks are focused on playing characters who are more than one entity that share a body!
"The Many are all separate consciousnesses who can trade Control over The Body, ranging from DID to spirit possession, while The Hive are many beings in lock-step with each other in one form, much like The Borg or a colony of ants.
"I'm a plural person myself, and enjoy seeing myself reflected back in media while also capturing a range of characters for this crossover game!
"Made for the Interstitial Second Edition Playbook Jam"
Content: Rated G. Warning for flickering lights!
Length: About five minutes.
Medium/about: As described by the author, "A 3-page poetry mini-zine about our experience with plurality, made in Decker."

As a reviewer, I enjoyed how the graphical and interactive elements made the personal story come alive.

Content: Rated G.
Medium: Book. Zine. Comic.
Length: 16 pages, with covers.
About: An illustrated introduction to what plurality is and how different it can be for one person to the next. As described by the creator, Beepbird,
"This issue focuses on defining plurality for those who may not be familiar with the concept, as well as reassuring plural folks that they're not alone."
As a reviewer who has been hanging around plurals and plural-friendly communities for more than ten years, and who is in committed loving relationships with a couple of plurals now, this is my favorite introduction to plurality because it shows how plurality comes in many forms and each plural system is unique.
Content: Rated G.

Relevance: A few submissions are from plural systems.
Content: Rated R.
Medium: Book.
Genre and subject: Nonfiction. Memoir.
About: All of the Madgic series collected into one book. As described by the author:
"Everyone knows crazy people have symptoms, not spirituality, so when LB Lee's brain started vomiting up mythopoetic nightmares, they presumed it a breakdown and bunkered down to wait it out.
"It didn't work, and after four years, Mori said, 'Fine! I'll handle it!'
"Herein, find one loony's stagger-dance through the thorny wilds of the otherordinary, including:
"216 pages, black and white, mix of text, illustration, and comics, 5.5" x 8.5". Alt-text included in base file."
I recommend this book to anyone who finds they must build or discover their own DIY spirituality, especially but not only if they're plural or mentally ill.
Content: Rated G.
Medium: Zine.

Vibe: Positive, romantic, poetic.
Unrated. Zine, perzine. Tagged as plural and plurality. As described by the zinesters,
"A brief introduction to the headmates in a Body et al.!"
Unrated. Zine. As described by the zinester,
"What does liberation look like for a group of people many don’t believe exists [...] Plurality is nothing new, but the modern community—especially its activism—certainly are! After centuries of isolation and suppression, plural folks are demanding our rights. But what exactly are those rights? Join a Body et al. in attempting to answer those questions & imperfectly outlining the fundamentals of plural liberation."
Unrated. Zine. As described by the zinester,
"A plural liberation zine originally intended to be left behind in coffee shops and street corners, a Body et al. explain why we believe the plural movement desperately needs to move offline—and encourage you& to help that happen! This zine is the spiritual predecessor to the Egg Carton Manifesto (and best read alongside it)."
Unrated. Zine. Tagged as plural and plurality. As described by zinester, "A love letter to all loved ones who 'don’t exist,' this zine shows four ways to show affection for noncorporeal beings."

Genre and subject: Nonfiction. Perzine.
About: "Heavily inspired by LB Lee's Loony Brain Primer—it's a characteristically nonspecific introduction to the system! It contains no headmate names, sources, or descriptions—only archetypes, which are the five flavours of system member we've noticed over time."
Content: Rated G. Warning for references to trauma.
Medium: Personal zine. Illustrated song lyrics.
About: As described by the zinester,
"A zine about a aspect of my experience with having a dissociative disorder."
"The 'lyrics' are reworked from the song 'Firewalker with Me' by the Garages and roughly follow that song's tune/melody/etc through the first few verses and first chorus-- parts 2 and 3 will continue on this, picking up in other places of the track. All art is done by hand by me."
