The things in this collection aren't about alterhumans, but I expect that they would tend to appeal to alterhumans. For example, plural systems like character customization tools to create pictures of their headmates. Therianthropes tend to like simulation games about bird flight and other animal behavior.
For brevity, I'm using alterhuman as an umbrella term that can potentially include as many members of these groups and identities as personally feel they relate to what's in here: therianthropes, otherkin, fictionfolk, plural systems, and furry lifestylers. On my profile, I have other collections of things on itch.io that are actually about alterhumans, with explanations of what they are.
Rated PG (dress-up options include gore, body horror, and fetish gear, but no nudity). A character customization tool for making bust portraits of humans as well as beings who don't look terribly human. I think plurals would be interested in this, and I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated G. A Bitsy game where you put some ingredients into a cauldron and become a catgirl. A few minutes long.
Unrated. Nonhuman protagonist. A tabletop role-playing game in which you play as a daemon disguised as an animal-folk to experience things in their world. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated G. A group of players stand apart from one another in the dark with flashlights, whispering to one another, to play as stars in space as the millennia pass. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Unrated. Nonhuman protagonist. Play as a therapy dog cheering up patients at a hospital. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Unrated. Nonhuman protagonist. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated PG-13 (references to bodies and sex aren't explicit). In a nonhuman culture, would they have the same norms about gender and relationships? What do they think makes a gender, could it be something else unrelated to what humans think is key to that? Consider these questions when you're world-building or designing a character. You can use these dice rolling tables to generate some ideas for your tabletop role-playing game. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated PG-13 (consensual physical intimacy and desire). A Twine game about finding a dance partner at a party for monsters while navigating social cues and sensory overload as a queer autistic creature. Lots of replay value to see each of the different story paths. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated G. A very short Twine game about the author's experiences with being autistic and transgender, and how this relates to domestication and wildness. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated G. Nonhuman protagonists. The players sit in a circle and use nonverbal communication to roleplay as wolves in scenarios described by the gamemaster. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated G. Nonhuman protagonist. A mostly wordless, beginner-friendly platform game where you play as a maned wolf. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Unrated. A solo tabletop roleplaying game where you play a changeling as their loved ones find out that they are secretly a fairy. It's meant to be about autism, ableism, and the pain of pretending to be neurotypical. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated G. A historical reenactment computer game that meditates on the relationship between human and nature. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated G. Nonhuman protagonist. Animal flight sim. You play an anthro bird who can glide. You have the option to gradually unlock the ability to fly. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated PG-13 (or higher?). Nonhuman protagonist. An alternative history set in what the 1920s would be like if the medieval ages had really been like sword-and-sorcery. A lot of this computer game is about fantasy racism as a metaphor for real-world issues. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated PG. Nonhuman protagonist. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Unrated. Nonhuman protagonists.
Rated G. Nonhuman protagonist. In this computer game, you are an anthro dragon who explores randomly-generated caverns to discover the lost history of her people. I think dragon kin would be interested in this.
Rated G. Nonhuman protagonists. A management sim where you're honeybees building a hive. Though this is a fanciful anthro scenario, the game includes educational info about real bees.
Rated G? Nonhuman protagonist. A computer game where you play an anthro animal octopus doing his best to pass as human and fit into a world made for folks who have bones. I think otherkin would be interested in this.
Rated G? Nonhuman protagonist. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated G? Nonhuman protagonist. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated G? Nonhuman protagonist. You play as a house cat and knock things off of shelves. I think therianthropes would be interested in this.
Rated PG-13. A visual novel of romance and murder mystery set in a world of dragons. Human protagonist, but I think dragon kin would be interested in this. In fact, many of the backers of this game's development were members of the dragon community. One of whom, a dragon otherkin, Goldkin, backed the game at the highest level, inserting a couple of their own fictional characters into the game, Lorem and Ipsum.
Rated G. Character customization tool for human profile images. I think plurals would be interested in this.
Rated G. Character customization tool for human profile pictures. I think plurals would be interested in this.
Rated G. Character customization tool for human profile pictures. I think plurals would be interested in this.
Rated PG-13. An adventure through a world where people's thoughts can manifest as nonhuman entities called thoughtforms or tulpas, who are sentient personifications of ideas, and people can train to become something like magicians who use their own thoughts to influence their surroundings. Make sure you unlock all the endings to get the whole story. I think plurals would be interested in this.
Rated G. A character customization tool for feminine human (or catgirl) figures. I think plurals would be interested in this.
Rated R, 18+ for nudity. A stand-alone character customization tool for designing your furry persona (fursona). I think furries would be interested in this.
