Random Simple GamesPage 5

Sometimes we just want some mindless fun and that's exactly what I have here! Just some simple random blurbs I have and played at my own leisure~ They're all varied with no specific theme on mind other than they were short, simple, and good~! ♪(´▽`)

You can also say it's my dumping ground of other games that have not fully made its way to my more theme oriented collections but despite saying that it does not mean the games here are any bad unless I explicity state the difficulties I encountered while playing it! Every game here can be your little hidden gem if you look around and experience it~ Do pace yourself and don't be like me where you put so many games in a collection.... Yeah, speaking from experience... (´。_。`)

A cursed guitarist tells you his last story
Visual Novel

It's a really short visual novel with not much going on but the plot as you've gleaned from the story is quite tragic. I can only hope that the Emiri Clan can rest in peace. Aside from the plot, the art (from the sprite as you can see) is quite lovely, the music is well picked, and despite there being only 2 choices, it has a lovely way of writing.

I would have put it in my Rip Out My Heart Why Won't You? but with its slow paced narrative, it does kinda take out the angst element, as well as its repetitive words can be easily blurred around. I think it's a reflection to MC's view on not only general life, but her life as well. With that said, please heed the warnings in the game page/description! There's nothing explicity stated and shown, but the topic itself may be triggering/uncomfortable to people, so please read with caution!

Aaaa I truly had trouble thinking up where to put this visual novel, I decided to play it here but in reality it may seem simple but there are cool creative liberties the developer made with the limitation they have! It's really well-made and despite being short, it's the perfect length in order to get the multiple endings you can achieve. Jester is also pretty interesting as well as the connection he has towards MC/Master, you get to see the unfortunate demise of MC/Master through snippets of their amnesiac memory. There's a mystery about MC/Master's condition (tho that's partially just me) but I'm truly glad that everyone truly put effort in this visual novel, even to the point of making it free! A great game, highly recommend!!

Truly belongs here ahaha! It's a real simple game with just picking up food, clicking on it, and pressing space to eat it. The premise is certainly short but quite fun especially with how much you could possible order.

I contemplated putting it in my Cozy Games I've Already Played, but I guess it just didn't fit the whole vibe? But it's a seriously great puzzle game with unique and challenging puzzles! But if you're like me and you like playing puzzle games despite having an IQ comparable to that of a toddler-- Then there is hints & answers ready to guide you! If you pay attention, you'll eventually find a pattern/rhythm in order to solve it! There's no harm in using cheats to help you, just don't let it sour your experience in playing this surreal little puzzle game!

It's a pretty simple game especially since it was made for the recent Game Jam there is! It's a continuation from the previous game called "Silver Thread" and it's pretty good! Not too scary to frighten the fuck outta you but spooky enough you'll need to focus. It's a good little inbetween for the next installments!

A horror-romance, visual novel about finding love.
Visual Novel

I have a lot to say in my comments, most of them are about how the gameplay is but also about the lore/plot of the story and how it affects the characters. Of course it has spoilers but if you're curious do read it to know what you'll be getting to. But it is genuinely enjoyable through the first run where you kinda forget the problems, at least in my opinion.

Turn off your mind and vibe with Voldritch

Second part of the series! There's a lot more content and contains various ways to make sure you're all tired and calm and woozy... Though, warning, it has lots of flashes so be very careful if you are sensitive to that. Other than that it retains the basic premise of the first game but adds in more variables and a lot more choices on how it goes. It also gives you new perspective with Dr. Voldritch as well as the world around him that he lives in. The hypnosis aspect is actually really really good.

Despite it being a simple game, I think that's one of the things it uses as a part of its mechanic due to the overall plot of the game. It's honestly quite soothing and the character here, Dr. Voldritch, certainly is charming and persuasive in a way. His goals and means are that of a stereotypical villain but he approaches it in a very different way, almost in a way that you can't help but agree and listen to him more. Highly recommend to try it and experiences the ways he can possibly brainwash you gently... Now that's a string of words I never thought I'd use.

An Interactive Fiction game where you write all the fiction
Interactive Fiction

It's quite an interesting little game so to say. At first I was a little confused on what to do but I eventually got it. It really does help with pumping the creative juices and it isn't all that serious. It's really fun to look through the prompt to see if they can fit and if not, make up your own. Quite a way to exercise your writer spirit!

A short interactive detective story
Adventure

Well it's a small concept but it does have an interesting story, kinda wished we got to see more about it but what can you do.

Do you remember what you did?
Visual Novel

It's very short but it is quite the worth the few minutes to experience it. I know the ejection of the player from the vn is supposed to be serious but I genuinely found it hilarious what with the circumstances and Melanie's side comments about it. Though the story it does contain is quite sad once you piece it together, it's quite nice.

In space, no one can hear you scream, but maybe they'll listen to you talk
Visual Novel

It has a unique concept and despite being short, it has such an interesting twist at the end that I completely didn't expect at all! You are an AI programmed to help patients via talk therapy, it provides some challenges in that short duration and makes you focused on what Gema will say next, but be careful not to say anything without proof or evidence to back your statements!

A short cyberpunk typing game with visual novel elements
Visual Novel

This is a very cutthroat typing game, based on my limited experience with other typing games, with genuine consequence should you fail anymore than you can. The visual novel aspect of it is quite simple and straight forward with a twist to keep things fresh. There are 3 typing sequences and each are challenging in its own right. Unless you fancy feeling like a little rage is what the doctor ordered, I suggest you play this lil game and type as fast yet as accurately as you can (which is basically non-existent).

Hm, this isn't much of a game but an experimental style? Other than that it's a really simple premise but I love the design of the dolls and the physics really entertained me when they spazzed out!

It's a simple game but what's impressive about it is that it was made in 24 hours! This game is quite short with a simple point system, as well as a walkthrough provided to help you in your endeavors! Great game with a hilarious dynamic between them!

Yes, this may seem simple enough but this is a hard typing game, well for me. But not only is it a game I sincerely think it's almost like a sort of tool to help you get better at typing, whether accurately without looking at your keyboard. I got a bit cocky because I was able to use my keyboard without looking all that much but boy was I sure humbled by this experience. It's great and it genuinely does help me with my typing, albeit this is only Day 1 of me playing it AHAHAHAHAHA! Recommend to try it out if you're someone who wants to type a lot.

Change people's life, one cup of coffee at a time
Visual Novel

I didn't know much about it but upon further looking into it, I found out it was a prototype for Coffee Talk, one of the biggest games Toge Productions made. Admittedly the pixel art is amazing and the story is quite simple yet also meaningful, the only gripes I had was trying to find out whether or not I chose the correct combination for the drinks but I suppose it was always like that. Still nice to play it because now I have a basis for Coffee Talk when I can be able to play it!

An unconventional dress up game about conventional parents

Your classic dress up game but with a twist, the one judging you isn't well known jduges but instead your own strict parents! It has a simple premise albeit unique and the art is adorable. It's a great game to take breaks and explore the many options you can disappoint these strict parents while also trying to dress cutely!!

Game made for Wholesome Game Jam 2022 (community) (48h)
Adventure

It's a pretty simple game, be warned it automatically goes on full screen mode and there isn't an exit button to be found and the volume is really high so you'd want to lower the volume first. The art is really cute and the story started out confusing and kinda weird due to there not being dialogue or texts and with the rather simplistic drawings to depict the backstory of the protagonist. But other than that it's a short simple game!

boy meets tree
Visual Novel

Quite a short story with no dialogue and minimum things to do but it is quite a cute little bittersweet story. Warning for flashing cause of the limited movement. Other than that the minimalistic effort on this visual novel isn't that bad and is honestly adorable.

It would have made itself on the Cozy Games I've Already Played but the difficulty and unclear instructions for the minigame portion made me decide to put it here. The story is simple albeit adorable and cute with the MC having second thoughts regarding his friend, Clay. They're honestly so cute you have to try it. And if you do, goodluck with the mini games! They sure are challenging!

Yes it's simple in gameplay, but for some embarrassing reason I can't get some of the question right so I chickened out lol. You might have better luck than me tho.

Use magic to grow a plant!

This is simple in terms of gameplay. It literally means to type in the random words listed on the screen, the challenge is that you literally have only 3 seconds to complete each word and I'm saying word generously because the given word isn't even a word within the english vocabulary, it's a mismash of letters which makes you need to think about the correct letters instead of automatically typing it. It's quite challenging especially with the fast timer barely giving you enough time to breathe but it is a welcome challenge for those who are competitive, it keeps you on your toes that's for sure.

It's a really simple game with some elusive gameplay and a funny lil story that's genuinely entertaining. If you want some mindless fun and reading some wacky things, by all means I'd go for this one ahahaha.

Oh I didn't put this here because the gameplay is simple, that doesn't work at all. In fact the reason why I put it here is because the execution is simple and there isn't that much to do other than to write chinese characters, YET DESPITE THAT IT IS QUITE HARD FOR THE GAME TO ACCEPT WHATEVER SCRIBBLES YOU'RE WRITING OUT WITH YOUR MOUSE (well for me personally). It's a great game but holy hell is it challenging!

This is the weirdest visual novel kind of game I have played, and I've read some weird stuff. Nothing... explicit happens but even then it can make you feel genuinely sorry for one character. But honestly it was hilarious to go through, just need to prepare a spray of holy water of course.

It's a fun little simple game with a nice little plot going on with a secret that isn't that hard to find tho I did need some help because I didn't feel like I wanted to think at all today haha! Great game regardless, a fun little game to destress!

A dark comedy choice game about appeasement
Interactive Fiction
Play in browser

It's quite a simle game which you can expect from a game jam but other than that the visuals are quite simplistic yet strangely cute with the game mechanics being just nod or shake your head. The real charm of this story comes from its dialogue or stories wherein you get multiple plot twist about each of the characters which is a given because this is a dark comedy game but with not that much brutality. The slow pacedness of the game compliments the stories that make you want to raise your eyebrows in disbelief and the worldbuilding is done well that even though we can't see the world we can glean clues about how it works from the stories people say, even the people themselves are weird and mysterious with motives that we can understand but still are confused by. Its a wonderful simple game to have fun reading through but the game ends when Moko takes out the bag of coins and gives it away, there's nothing beyond the black screen I'm afraid. Still, worth a try if you're looking for dark comedy but without the blood and all!

This game sure was challenging. The premise is pretty basic and you do your best to silence the distraction/noise so that the character can sleep in. I had a lot of trouble with the bird because I didn't know what to do but it was still a pretty fun game!

Edit: I FINALLY BEAT THE GAME. Also the creator informed me that there is no real reason to shoo away the bird but to instead focus on the room thermometer in order to use the window mechanic. It actually saved me a lot of trouble and I managed to complete it!
