All the games I've enjoyed playing from the Indie Bundle for Palestinian Aid - if you're looking for games to try, maybe you will enjoy some of these too!
This collection will be updated as I play through more of the bundle.
a delectably dissonant mix of tranquility and the macabre. have millennial ennui and property management ever tasted quite this good?
I felt this in my bones. Horrifying realism.
(takes under fifteen minutes for a single playthrough)
This is exceedingly silly and it works.
(takes maybe fifteen minutes if you read fast)
A small game with a weighty conversation and a superb soundtrack. This packs a punch.
(takes under half an hour)
This game has been made with so much love and care for its audience and also its subject matter. It shares information on its characters' identities and perspectives without getting too didactic, and the empathy engendered by their struggles is almost too painful at times. It is a visual novel which means a lot of reading, and the option of turning on assistive voicing at any time is an excellent inclusion. Really nicely done overall.
(takes about an hour, maybe longer if everything is voiced)
You know how sometimes you want to make broccoli casserole but you're out of broccoli and you need to go on a quest to get some broccoli? This game captures that familiar experience perfectly.
(takes under fifteen minutes)
This game is really lovely. The text message conversations with your Nainai are super endearing, and interacting with the ingredients and trying to cook them properly is tricker than it looks, but satisfying - I loved chopping the garlic in particular (definitely not because that was the one thing I was competent at). Nainai was very kind about the rather questionable meal I produced. One day is fully implemented in the game, with more to come.
(takes under an hour, but the full version will be longer)
Short game where you learn to balance your tremendous greed hunger with the need to at least seem like you're interested in what your dining companion has to say. I definitely never said anything completely irrelevant because I was too fixated on whether or not my enormous quantities of meat were burning. Stressful and fun!
