A really simple but really effective little system. I'm a huge fan of it; while clearly designed for FIST, it'd slot pretty neatly into just about any system you'd want it to.
finally got to play this and can confirm directly; one of the best ttrpgs ever written. its so good. also Listen To Eidolon Playtest.
the mechanics are extremely simple but. sometimes you read a title and laugh so hard someone checks to see if you're alive.
straight up my favorite ttrpg. every single class is so fucked up in a delightful way. This entire game is about absolutely ruining your character, body mind and soul. all the locations are so strange and beautiful and horrifying, and the best you can hope for is to die in a way that you accept (like, say, summoning the train you worship to run you over and every other nearby motherfucker you hate.)
this game is so fucking funny. It absolutely NAILS the tone and satire it's going for. Next time I can wrangle a group, we're playing this for sure.
yeah. yeah...
it's so good. it's so fucking good. can't wait for BRIGHTFALL.
holy shit
EDIT: ok writing more on this because just "holy shit" doesn't do it much justice. Antigone has been one of my favorite plays, hell, favorite stories, since i read it. and this is just a perfect little adaptation. the writing's sharp, the little twists on characters are clever, and that...that final segment. god.
Typically i prefer to add lesser-known stuff to this list, but....c'mon. It's the best Supergiant game by a massive margin, and they're already batting pretty high on average. If you've never played a Supergiant game or only played Hades, you owe it to yourself to give Pyre a shot.
Simple, but soothing, and just complex enough to be interesting.
It's the end of an era. It's the same era we've always been in. We're making something new. We're making the same mistakes as last time. We've never been like this before. We've always been like this.
theres a lot of cool shit here that i could say about the mechanics but instead im just gonna say the art on pages 224 and 230 are Extremely Fucking Gender
I did, in fact, like these. Mystery Show is one of my favorite things ever, and I'm so overjoyed this zine introduced me to it. All the other reccomendations are great too (The Stuff is SO fun, and I don't think I'll stop thinking about Die ever.)
LOVE a game where you play entire factions AND individual characters, while not getting so complicted it becomes unfun to play.
I could not possibly explain to you what happens in this game. Just play it. touhou knowledge encouraged but not neccesary.
holy shit
An excellent little sci-fi murder mystery. Genuinely very funny as well!
Play the game! Play The Game! Stay With Us :)
Fun mystery game with unique and cool mechanics based on comparing testimonies, and an amazing setting. I look forward to a possible sequel.
The game is tender and sweet and yet still melancholic in ways. It really cuts to the heart, and I hope someday I can play it.
This game kicks ass. I love picking two playbooks, and the constant change and evolution of characters is extremely my shit. Also, the setting is *so cool*
One of my favorite world building games, maybe even my top one. The true names took a bit to handle, but this was both easy to teach to a group new to ttrpgs and created a wild and wonderful setting for our Masks game. We will never forgive or forget the driver of Rowdy Rocks Rolling Discocade for what he has done to The Biggest Boy restaurant megaplex.
