Developer Update: Ethereal Sunder almost completed & New Project Reveal

Hello everyone,

As the title of this post suggests, I’d like to talk to you about Ethereal Sunder final months of development and about what comes after it.

First, let’s talk about the expected release date of Ethereal Sunder.

Around a year ago, I told someone on Itch and my Discord server that I wanted to finish it in May 2025. Unfortunately, I’ll need to push that date to July 2025. The main reason is that I’ve asked InCloud (the game’s artist) to create new CG illustrations for the final portion of the story. The story currently lacks visuals, and I felt it would feel a bit too empty without them.

On the other hand, with the deadline to finish the game so close, I’ll stop receiving suggestions for the game and instead focus on implementing the ones that received the most support during the last year and a half.

Second, I want to let everyone know that InCloud has decided to pursue new life opportunities, which means he won’t be able to continue working on illustrations beyond what we already planned.

Because of this, there are no current plans for DLCs or additional content after the game’s release.

Finally, if you haven’t already, please consider following the game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3304760/Ethereal_Sunder/

For those of you who have already been supporting the project through Patreon or pixivFANBOX—thank you. I won’t dare ask you to purchase the game on Steam.

In fact, starting with build 0.20, if you have contributed 10 USD or more before May 2025, I’ll send you by DM the links to the remaining updates of Ethereal Sunder, even if you aren’t a member now.

From now on, the support you provide will be used on the second project, which I’ll discuss below.

But going back to the Steam version, if you’ve been waiting for the full release to buy Ethereal Sunder—or if you're unable to subscribe due to payment issues—you’ll be able to purchase the game on Steam and apply a patch to access all content.

Gaining visibility on a big platform like Steam through positive reviews is the best way to get more people to know about my work, so any support there means a lot.

That’s all for Ethereal Sunder. I’m sure there are things I didn’t cover here, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. I’ll do my best to reply as quickly as possible.

Now, onto the second part of this post: I’d like to introduce you to my next game project.

Since I believe that anyone considering supporting it deserves a clear and in-depth explanation, I’ve prepared a detailed write-up of the project in a Google Doc, aiming for you to find it well-organized and easy to follow:

This is the link to the doc.

I truly hope what you read piques your interest!

That is all for this post. Thank you for your attention, and enjoy your Friday!

I like new screenshots but the previous character has more cute design than the new one :'D

Hey quick question, lets say i join your patreon now for a month, would that mean i still would get the game since its before May? Im asking just to be sure since i live in Germany, and sadly steam likes to block games like this before release, making me unable to just get them there.

If the whole region block thing wouldn't be such a problem i wouldn't ask something like this. But they like to block games just before the release, and since there is no way to buy it earlier there it might lock me out of it.

Just one last thing, good luck with your next project and take care!

Correct. If you join now at the tier 3 in Patreon (the 10 USD one), you will receive the upcoming updates for Ethereal Sunder via DM, even if you cancel the membership next month.
