So, the remade sprites for my third character are done!
... Mostly.
Pris’s assets are 100% complete and that's it for the bulk of the work. A third character that's now a check in the box.
She’s the tallest girl at around 5'8" or 5'9" and - oddly enough - I’m... happy with the result. I’ve always had... kind of a soft spot for her. She’s one of the characters I enjoy writing about the most. Witty, caustically sarcastic, and utterly mad (more on this once the rewrite is out). And she's also refreshingly straightforward - if you don't dig in too deep - so no need for the gigazillion nuanced poses/expressions/whatever I felt I *had* to develop for Mika and Pris.
Still have to create her layered image's script. She'll be my guinea pig (sorry darling!) for a number of things I want to test. Hopefully they'll simplify things considerably (my current approach to layered images has plenty of room for improvement).
Next one will be... I should really start with a male character. So far I’ve been behind schedule (albeit in a very consistent and precise way. Wish that could mean that I am not "exactly" late). Still, the Mika-Bianca-Pris trio is the most challenging part of the project, so - who knows, perhaps I'll be able to stick to my original one-character-per-month plan!
Then again, maybe not...
On a different note, the script is coming along nicely. The way new ideas pop out and uncanningly fit the broader narrative is magic on its own. Perhaps a bit too many ideas: this project is becoming extremely ambitious and complex - trust me, you definitely do *NOT* want to have a look at the block diagram I use to track the parts of the script: it borders madness and it keeps growing. Whenever I look at it I end into a rollercoaster of exhilaration (tipically around 2AM–6AM, when creativity kicks sleep away) and a daunting sense of impending doom at the sight of the ever-growing "to-do" list.
Nothing a stack of homemade pancakes with a decadent, gooey cascade of chocolate hazelnut spread can’t fix, though.
