Ultimate Battle Warriors is a 1v1 arena combat dice-brawler full of gonzo weapons and armour.

It shares a lot of elements with ttrpgs, and if a kid played this and liked it, they’d be primed to try an rpg next.

It’s for kids in the 7-12+ range and they can play it solo or against a friend.

You are a warrior in the ultimate battle arena. Your name is your power. You must fight and win to grow your name. Because the warrior with the longest name is the ultimate battle champion!

A warrior’s power depends on the number of syllables in their name. When they win their name gets longer, and if they lose it gets shorter until they leave the arena, nameless, and forgotten.

The length of their warrior name is also their budget for weapons and armour. So their gear is upgraded as they win and downgraded as they lose.

These weapon and armour properties are the only numbers used in fights, there aren’t any character stats. So the progression and combat stuff is super simple.

It also means the championship stuff is super simple. If you lose your whole name, you’re out! If you get to 7 syllables, you have the longest name, and you’re the champ! That’s it, that’s the game.

Each fight is fast, but there’s an ongoing championship element. So I hope it’s well suited to kids with slightly shorter attention spans. They can play while it’s fun and then come back again later.

Theres a table with random name syllables that doubles as a weapon/armour generator for opponents if you’re playing solo.

And a big list of the weapons and armour with stats and illustrations to spark the kids imagination. Because part of each fight is colouring in your character sheet (and singing the theme song too!)

I made it for some special kids in my life and they were super hyped playing.

It’s good for kids like 7+ but they’ll need a parent to help them with the rules at first. It needs one or two six sided dice and colouring-in stuff.

You can print it out as an A5 booklet and print extra copies of page 2 (warrior sheet) in A4 for colouring in. It’s for kids with slightly shorter attention spans, and has violent themes (obv).
