Hi all. For those wondering where Wizardman Ivory was at the end of the year, the simple answer is that playtesting both changed the scope of the game and introduced new mechanics that needed testing, some overhauls to the general structure of the book and its narrative, and, unrelatedly, my life became incredibly busy as I worked to finish my second animated short film for college (the trailer is available here, if you're curious:)
Wizardman Ivory is almost done, on a written level. Now, additional mechanics allow for Keepers to have just as much fun and game interaction at the table as any Wolf player would, using a unique set of mechanics designed to make running a game both prep-less and more abstractly engaging in the way most game mechanics tend to be. It's a bit experimental, but has been playing well. In addition, every old art asset has been scrapped and is being steadily replaced by some "really cool shit" I'm much more proud of. As a consolation prize, here's some below:
You can see more of this in the coming days on my Tumblr (antescompany.tumblr.com). Rest assured, Wizardman Ivory will be finished, and is soon enough to that end line, but as I'm working on - oh dear - a third film at the moment, I cannot give any date of completion lest I curse myself. Plus, I'm considering proper publishing options beyond self-pub here on itch, meaning the timeline will likely be out of my own control at a certain point.
This game is good. It's outrageously fun, seriously. I'm not just saying that cause I made it, and in fact feel a bit more bashful saying it due to that fact. But I will allow myself pride with this!
More soon, likely. I may post some pages, and will almost definitely discuss the new mechanics in greater detail. Maybe I should get a newsletter like all the cool game designers have nowadays, haha. We'll see.
Ciao,
Braden M. Hansen (Ante's Company)
