Hey all, Shirley here. I've already posted about this on my YouTube channel and Discord server, but I thought I might as well post this here too.

As the title clearly states, I'm "quitting" YouTube. Not entirely, hence why "quitting" is in quotes, but I won't be making content for it for at least a few months. Additionally, when I return to making content for it, I'll be using a completely different name. My game projects, though (Pinori and PyNori and any potentially related future projects), will continue development and stay under this alias. It's for the best that I keep my new alias out of my personal projects. "What is the best?", you may be wondering. Well... not getting harassed over something I did 2 years ago.

That's the reason I'm moving away from YouTube as Shirley anyway. Some dumbasses (all from the UK for whatever reason) keep tagging me in random hateposts/shitposts as a sort of weird attack. The reason? Because of something stupid I did 2 years ago. They're also trying to twist an unrelated incident regarding "a certain type of not okay NSFW" even though the "evidence" they show shows me explaining that it wasn't my intent to store that "certain type of not okay NSFW" on my computer??? Yeah, okay.

Anyway, my hope is that I can start fresh on a separate account so that my mentions tab doesn't look like... this.

Yeah. There's more where that came from, by the way. I'm not going to show it, of course, or else this post will end up longer than 2 Declarations of Independence, but this right here is why I'm "quitting". Sure, it's dumb, but try getting harassed on and off for 2 years over something you already owned up to and moved on from and then get back to me.

Not to worry though, my content won't become lost media. Someone's already made a "Shirley-XML Archive" and they've made pretty good progress preserving my work. Thank you to that person.

Anyway, TL;DR I'm starting over in terms of my YouTube career because some lifeless trolls keep harassing me by tagging me in random hateposts and shitposts. For the sake of not having this scenario repeat itself on my new account, I will not tell you what my new name is going to be, and I for sure won't be using my real voice or showing my face again. At least until I get to a point where I no longer give a shit about these weirdos, which maybe I'll have transitioned by then, but I don't know.

If these people actually somehow find me (which I'd be surprised if they did), I'll just ignore their posts instead of responding to them, since that's what's encouraging them to make more anyway, if not "oh yeah let's bully random people for fun". I'm done typing now by the way, you can do more important things now. (confetti emoji)
