Dev Log 4

So for post production we've mainly been looking at where we would want to publish the game after having done some polishing. We are hoping to complete 1 or 2 more sprints after the school semester is done so that we can polish the game to a point were we are at least confident that people can play it without any bugs that ruin the experience. We have been deciding on whether to publish the game on either Steam or on Itch.io (or on both). Personally I think both wouldn't hurt, but I think that posting on steam might give a more professional look to our presentation of the game to employers. Having the game on steam gives off the impression that the game is more curated and intentional whereas Itch.io gives off the impression of a project that's more experimental or indie in nature.

So the main aim for me in post-production really is to prepare this project to be something that can be presented as a portfolio piece that displays my ability as a narrative designer and a level designer.

Hello Nick, it's great to hear that you and your team are planning on developing the game a bit further and aim to upload it on steam! That would be incredible like you mentioned for publishers, however I also agree when you mention it wouldn't hurt to publish on itch.io as well. Popular games like Celest are on both so it definitely won't hurt the reputation, it'll only add to your userbase! I'm super excited to see the final product up on these sites!
