Dev Log 3 - Gamification

So I learned quite a bit for this week and just in general about the the development process and the pipeline. As level designer who is focusing more on the gray box, I've learned how important it is to plan and communicate with the environment, artists and how we intend to add art to the level. So The environment artist essentially painted over the gray box that I put in the level with textures and paints and because I had some overlapping gray boxes, some of the textures that he painted had some image clipping. This obviously doesn't look too good in the level. So I learned that making blockouts in such a way that will complement the environment. Artist is very important and a necessary part of planning when it comes to making the block out. And just as important is communicating with my environment artist to see what they have in mind or see what their plans are for decorating the level with art and textures.
