I've released a new tutorial on my website: How to make resizeable backgrounds in Ren’Py with Frame. Learn how to use Frame to make backgrounds that will stretch and tile intelligently to fit their contents!
That said, as I should have perhaps predicted, I have been packing too many extras into the tool so I'll be finishing that up this week 😅 All the functionality is completed, but I'd like to make a proper How-to like my usual image tools have (and possibly rename some of the buttons/reorganize that top bar) - particularly because some features are a little hidden (e.g. you can hold down ALT to adjust borders symmetrically, in addition to using the button toggle, and use the arrow keys to nudge the active border (shown in yellow)).
Plus there are some nice conveniences, like how you can scroll-zoom either tool area when hovering over it, in addition to the zoom bar below them, and you can flip the colours of the background and resizing lines in case you've got a dark or bright image to adjust and you can't see the UI.
There wasn't really a reason to demonstrate this in the tutorial, but you can also use the tool to get padding numbers! I'm probably going to rename the buttons (any suggestions?) to make it clearer what they do, but the goal is to allow you to see what the Frame will look like when filled with contents such as text so you can adjust the padding in real-time.
I hope you get good use out of the tool when it releases! Thanks so much for your support ✨
