Dev Log #3 Production

Currently, the demo of the game has implemented important artistic assets such as scenes and characters. According to feedback from the reports, visual representations that correspond with the content and gameplay mechanics will help players understand the game's functionality more effectively. Despite players reporting mouse delay during three rounds of testing, having artistic assets in place has shown to increase players' patience and understanding.

I've been importing game assets together with another person responsible for art. However, before this, I encountered a difficulty. It seems that my Unity Hub always downloads versions with a "c1" suffix, possibly due to regional issues. For example, while our group uses version 2022.3.16f1, my version is 2022.3.16.f1c1. The website explains that this suffix is used to differentiate regions, but I couldn't confirm whether these two versions are compatible. Therefore, as a precaution, I re-downloaded Unity Hub. Perhaps in the future, I can conduct experiments to see if the suffix affects the project.

Another issue concerns SourceTree. Actually over the past few weeks, I've been facing technical problems. After updating artistic assets in Unity, SourceTree didn't reflect any updates. Consequently, when I closed and reopened the project in Unity, all the assets disappeared. The final solution turned out to be importing the artistic assets, making minor changes to the scene, which prompted SourceTree to detect the changes. Only then could I commit and push the changes, thus ensuring the artistic assets were truly updated. This phenomenon is quite strange, and I still haven't fully understood why it occurs. I noticed that other team members' commits included the import of artistic assets, but when I imported them, my SourceTree showed no response.

Fortunately, despite the process being less than smooth, the end result is considerable. With artistic assets and sound effects, the game looks really impressive! :D
