Development Log #1

On March 11, 2024, I began work on my first game, Nothing Can Ever Go Wrong. I have so far completed the very first scene, and I have begun work on the first level. I have created the two main characters, and I have created the first two enemies that must be battled. It is taking me a little longer than expected. I did struggle a bit with figuring out the character actions and how to make them perform such an action after a certain thing is said or done. It did take me some time, but I think I finally got the hang of it, and it became a lot easier as I continued playing with it. I also found putting the scenery a little harder than expected. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I always want to ensure everything is detailed, and there is nothing missing at all, even if the player can’t see it on screen. The game still needs a lot of work of course, but I am off to a good start, and I hope I can get the whole thing done by the end of the month.  The dialogue was quite easy to do. That was the easiest aspect so far. But once again, the character actions to trigger the dialogue is a little more difficult.
