Devlog - Production

Production on Steelfire Garden has been going well overall; of course, there are some obstacles, and things aren't going exactly as planned, but when do they ever? One thing I've always known but am now experiencing first-hand is that nothing really goes as planned no matter what happens; you can plan and plan, but something is always going to go differently, but that's okay. It's important to have the skills needed to not necessarily follow orders exactly as outlined but rather to know how to adapt plans and your skillset around how a project changes, and unfortunately, those who cannot adapt fall behind.

Production is going smoothly for our team, but it is going slow, but there are far worse problems that could happen to a team, and I'm glad to say I've got a really good team working alongside me to ensure that there are no team conflicts and that there are very few problems with the project pipeline. The one thing we can't plan for is outside commitment. At this point in our education, things outside of school are hectic with internships, portfolio building and all other sorts of things, and unfortunately, the project has to move to the background for most. This has been a problem for me personally, along with a few of our team members, and so, while we're still putting out quality work as a team, it's being finished at a slower pace than expected, and now we need to adapt our project, our expectations, and our schedule to fit the timeline we have left.

Our past few meetings have been related to how we can adjust all of those things as time moves forward; we've begun reviewing the scope of the project, our expectations for the amount of content we can produce, and how we go about conducting playtests in order to maximize for the little time we have left.
