Development Log: Working Hard and Hardly Working

Have not gotten to do a developmental update in awhile, mostly because of time and jobs and limited ability to do this work. Obviously, KNUCKLEPUNK GAMES is not the full time gig here, and for me personally, I have two other full time jobs that take up a lot of time. But there is new stuff in development and stuff im excited to share about.

Dungeons & Flaggins released its first full length adventure in the BILLYAD and we have more in the works. In specific, we have a set of seven adventures in development that will be six pannel pamphlet style. These will collectively form a single setting and kinda bw structured around really cool magic swords. It will be pretty unique as a setting, with specific races and classes unique to them and no other ttrpg (as best I can, haha). Very kind of 80's inspired. Some are dungeons, some travel adventures. So that is getting some work.

There is another Sword & Backpack pamphlet on the way - more of a tool to help launch an adventure. We also have this idea cooking about a Clerical "heaven crawl", so stayed tuned on that too.

SHADOWDARK projects are still in production. We are planning out an adventure for the KYMBRIA setting with the same kind of format. Something deadly and unleveled (I love unleveled adventures, so). I am also working on the 7 to 10 level adventure for GODLESS, which will hopefully be a fitting conclusion to the series. There is a lot of other Shadowdark stuff that is in development, very much idea phases, like some modular dungeons and adventures not tied to our specific settings. Like, there is this one about memory loss and abuse of power in a small town that is getting fleshed out.

So, then there is this other thing - a retro-clone of sorts. Long story short, I personally developed settings  and adventures around a particular retro-D&D clone by another group and had been doing a lot of playtesting when disaster struck. The retroclone gave an updated edition that was super sexist, degrading to women, and very, very othering.

I, and Knucklepunk, have no intention of supporting systems that degrade women, treat people as less than, or exploit them for profit, so we canned the game - we don't even use the older edition we have in home games anymore cause it just feels gross. But now we are stuck with these modules that don't work for Shadowdark or Flaggins or anything else we really do. SO we are developing a retro-clone; one that is egalitarian and equity driven; with enough variety to be more than just another reprinting of BX or whatever, and that is as accesible as possible. There are already so many retro-clones you could play, but we want to provide something usable, driven by more punk convictions, and that everyone can know for sure does not support in anyway racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, or other crap. We've been burned a few times like this and we're pretty sick of it. So, ya there are other systems sure, but we want to provide something with the full assurance that it won't be super toxic in 5 years time. Even if it is just for us.

Sorry for such a long update. If anything sounds cool, if you are doing something cool, drop a comment if you please. More updates, and more specific ones, to follow.
