Alphabet Superset #18: R

R is for Regrets, and as a game maker one of the main things that come to mind when I think "regret" is my back catalog of unfinished games.

The thing is, I think I've found my niche, which is making games that are small and arcade-y, small and adventure-rpg-ish, and small, but rich in the story. Small being the keyword, in case I haven't repeated that enough. I got a lot of inspiration and reassurance from this article: how to make good small games.

But despite having seemingly found my niche, I've got a ton of things in the back of my head, which my ADHD brain is constantly poking me about. Why aren't you working on this? I thought you were going to finish that? What about that other thing?

The trick is that there isn't really any trick. You just have to realize that - no, you're not going to finish those. It's best to gather whatever you learned from them, thank them for their service, Marie Kondo style, and just let them go. Move on to something that you can actually finish.

So here it is, the finished game about unfinished games. I hope you enjoy.
