THE PROBLEM
The Magician has fallen behind in complexity since the Knight Boss became the main focus in recent weeks. As a result, some of its functionality has stopped working. Despite having unique attacks, it has become less interesting to fight compared to the knight. Additionally, its teleportation feature has ceased working and, when it did work, it was uninteresting due to a lack of visual feedback.
THE SOLUTION
The solution to this issue involved updating the Magician's attack state code to align with the flow of the Knight's attack state. This entailed assigning a distinct attack pattern to the Magician and introducing an ability for situations when the player gets too close, considering close range as the Magician's vulnerability. The new ability for close-range encounters is a teleportation move that adds an element of excitement. Now, the Magician performs a backward jump, envelops himself in a smoke cloud, teleports to a new location, and leaves another smoke cloud. When the smoke dissipates, he launches a deadly fireball, requiring players to stay alert and track his movements to avoid a devastating blow.
