Cowboy Mode Devlog #2 - BigMode Game Jam project

My team and I are working on a Valkyria Chronicles inspired entry for the BigMode game jam.

I've been working on getting all the mechanics functional.  I've got the basic flow of the game's turns working now.  On your turn you can move each of your units once.  On the enemy's turn, each of their units will move once.  There are no animations for attacks, but you can attack and kill units.  The damage and health numbers are not set up to the final version right now, so attacks do very little damage at the moment.  

You'll notice a little pop-up in the center of the screen when the player selects a unit, this allows you to switch between 'Cowboy Mode' and 'Donkey Mode' (The final 3d models will be anthropomorphic donkeys so it will make sense) In Cowboy Mode you have less 'Move Time' and can attack enemies.  In Donkey Mode you have more Move Time, but cannot attack.  The final map will be quite sizable so you will have to balance getting into a position faster against offensive capability.

The UI is still in its early stages (just like everything else, lol) but you can see the character names, their HP (green bar), and their Move Time (Yellow Bar).  

Also noticeable is that the enemy pathing is not so great right now, but this will be adjusted as I am working on the project.

For now, I am going to keep posting just the raw footage of a test showing the game, rather than something more involved.  Once the game is further along and has more to show, I will start cutting it down into more of a highlight reel then just a quick function test.
