More Redesigning

The first of the test games is coming along well planning wise. I've worked out the main story, started thumbnailing, and redesigning the characters again. For this first game it's based on an idea I had from a video i made o writing channel over on YouTube where I reimagined BanBan and actually followed the bit of being a parent worried about their kid. It's set in a daycare that's been taken over by a brand that makes security toys. For a choose your own adventure story, I'm working in ways to sort of have mini bosses where your choices affect the game. This is proving to be a fun game to design, especially since I don't want it to just be a picture with text at the top or bottom and different buttons with the choices you can click on. I was trained in art first and alway love to find ways to design things to make them more visually interesting.

I'm having a blast planning this one out. If anything, the backgrounds/main illustrations are probably what will take the longest to work on. My main goal is to make sure it doesn't feel like a visual novel where it's mostly text and everything else is up to imagination. I want the player to feel like they're actually playing something and not just reading. I know with choose your own adventure, it's not an easy task, but it's a fun challenge nonetheless.
