Learning Godot & Game dev: 3rd week & 1st game.

Previous week: https://itch.io/blog/623882/learning-godot-game-dev-2nd-week

Hi, it’s week 3. Well, this one will be shorter than the other ones because I didn’t done much this week, I felt like I need to explore something else, a new gender to learn new mechanics and stuffs. So I’ve spent this week polishing a bit the game (nothing crazy but a new UI, a better main menu and a bit of additional challenge) to publish it here on itch.io.

But I’ve spent also some times to refactor a bit my code to migrate from reloading the scene after each choice to just calling a function and have a smooth experience of not being TP at each choice.

After some UI tweaking and adding a step counter and increasing difficulty every 10 steps, I’ve decided to move on and decided to publish the game at the current state and pause it, move on on a new game, learning new concepts and stuffs to maybe come back there later to pollish the game (with a game over screen, a pause menu, some things…)

I wanna focus more on the learning part first, menues, I can do that easily so why not find a new concept and learn new nodes, new things.

So the game is here: https://herisdia.itch.io/50-50-rogue

I don’t know yet what is my next game, but I know what I wanna learn so I’ll try to follow tutorials and find an idea to experiment and doing something with that.

See ya !
