Dev Log 2 Eric Hackney

When pitching a game I find it more calming then many other parts of game design. So when I went to pitch a game about housing insecurity, which was an extremely important issue to me, I felt confident in how I had designed my pitch.  By focusing on the feeling of getting rejected from housing for just being a student the game came together and I was able to pull from already existing sources such as papers please which have the exact feel I was going for when attempting to please a landlord while looking for a house.

I became extremely happy when presenting my game pitch as well as I often find I come up with great ideas for what to include in the game while speaking about my thoughts and plans for it. I think this is because presenting a pitch you get to reflect on how you would teach the idea to not only the producer but also to a new player and you get to see how those parties will react and act to your game.
