Devlog 2 - Pitching a Game

Hello, this is my second Devlog. And in today’s devlog, I will be talking about how my team came up with what game we are planning to work on and how it all is going to play out during the remainder of the semester.

After a great discussion between all of our team members, we all got to share our strengths and weaknesses in the different areas of design. Based on all our skills, the game we ended up to choosing to work on was “Auto Shipping Solutions”. The main concept and gameplay of this game is where the player is a manager working at a delivery room. The player must take care of the robot and do maintenance as it will need fueling.

Our group started by discussing the main intent behind our game. Most of us wrote about the topic of AI. And because of this we thought it would make sense to make a game based on this.

While our group consists of various artists, it was a bit hard to figure who will be responsible of doing what. I promised my team, I would take responsibility of making some levels since I’m more familiar in that subject same goes with narrative. But given our game may not seem like it will have levels, I decided to take charge of the narrative side of things.  It took us a while to figure this out, but in the end, one of us became responsible for the programming since everyone else had no or little experience of the subject.

In summary, I think we have a great team and with our skills and abilities, I am confident we will have a great game made near the end of the first semester.

Thanks for reading
