This is my fourth entry into the alphabet superset challenge by Struthless. The theme for this entry was "Drudgery", which admittedly I've kind of retrofitted into the game I wanted to make. It's a mashup of two short stories by Stanisław Lem, about the mundanity of space travel. You can play it here: This ship is a museum.
I've returned to my previous "just interact with stuff" style, there isn't much gamey game here, but I was becoming increasingly tired lately and I wanted to make something simpler. Of course, in time it turned out that it wasn't as simple as I thought, but that's just norm when you're making games.
Another observation is that the current version of bitsy is, unfortunately, very buggy. I have to refresh the page frequently because animations glitch out, sometimes I lose pieces of content because the parser for dialogue scripts does something weird. It's nothing too serious, and bitsy saves constantly in local storage, so refreshing page is not a big deal, but it gets annoying at times, and you have to remember to make backup copies of the game to avoid problems.
Since bitsy games are just single text files, I'm not even using github for this, I just download the data, add a time stamp to file title and upload them into my google drive. But this is crucial if you want to avoid frustration.
Next week is a rest week, so the next game is coming in two weeks. See you then!
