Hello, my lovely Itch.io followers,
This is Andrea (CuriousCat) with some exciting news for you, which involve an Itch.io account move, info about the "Viva la QueerBar" funding campaign, a Dicebreaker feature of one of my games, and a few words about the "Trans Witches are Witches" bundle!
[Ausnahmsweise heute alles nur auf Englisch - sorry an alle, die nur Deutsch sprechen! "Viva la QueerBar" wird dann wieder zweisprachig!]
I have moved all of my games from the CuriousCat account to the PlotbunnyGames account on Itch.io. And while my game stats and your access to these games have stayed intact in the move, my followers still are at this old account with no more games in it. So if you want to keep up with what I'm doing, please consider following the Plotbunny Games account, too!
In much more exciting news: I have just launched my very first Kickstarter campaign for ZineMonth! We're funding the production of "Viva la QueerBar," a slice-of-life story game about a queer bar (or queer café), its team, and the pleasures and struggles of being part of a queer community. Whether as a fantasy medieval tavern, a cyberpunk underground club, a real-world gay bar in a historical setting, an intergalactic queer bar on a spaceship, or anything else you can think of – the QueerBar lives wherever you want it to!
At the time of this message, we've already raised two thirds of the funding amount - wow!
Here's a mockup of the almost-finished cover and an example of an interior spread (which may look even better in the final version):
If you like queer games with a welcoming vibe (such as my previous games "Magical Pets," "Rodents with Guitars," "ImproVeto," "Miss Bernburg's Finishing School for Young Ladies" or my various supplements for "Brindlewood Bay") and want to support queer game designers, you should totally check out "Viva la QueerBar", which was written by Sandra Dahlhoff and Andrea Rick (me, who also will do the layout). The gorgeous original cover art is by Hannah van den Höövel! If the campaign funds successfully, we'll publish the game in both English and German at the same time (just like most of my previous games), so this is a treat for all of you.
Speaking of previous games: I'm very excited that "Magical Pets" has been featured on Dicebreaker! You can read the article by Maddie Cullen here: "10 magical school tabletop RPGs that will cast a spell on you". Or you can watch her fun and informative video about all these games over here on YouTube. It's very cute and shows off more of the game, its cute animal illustrations, and pretty HTML version (and tells you about nine other cool games!). Here's a screenshot:
And if you want to support even more LGBTQIA+ game designers and don't have enough games about magic yet, check out the "Trans Witches are Witches" bundle with 69 items by 56 different creators! It's only running for another two days, so get it while you can! (I don't have a game in this bundle but I think it deserves all the positive attention it can get - I already bought it for myself!)
I hope this has been interesting to you! If not, you'll find an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of this email. That said, I only email people very sparingly when I have big news to share. And most exciting news in the future will probably shared through the Plotbunny Games account anyway (so come follow me into the rabbit hole there).
All the best,
Andrea
