Progress Update - Diner Dreams

Hi, yes, I know some of you were expecting CCTV3 and are probably saying "what the heck". But I felt like I didn't have enough good ideas to make it a unique and worthwhile sequel yet. (I think I do now, though).

In any case, instead of procrastinating and brainstorming with myself forever, I figured, why not make a "somewhat small game" in the meantime. The game I'm working on is "Diner Dreams,", a game where you play as Kate, a mom, (or a "step-mom" if you are that type of person), who is struggling to keep up with the bills, the debt, the failing business, and her interpersonal relationships.

This time, the game tries to focus on the depth, and slow buildup of relationships in her life, and or the desperation, anxiety and struggle she has to go through.

The game also aims to roll with whatever happens, so even if you lose, you get to play through that turn of events, and if you lose more, you get to play through an even more horrible turn of events, etc... So there are different unique avenues of story, a some sort of, hopefully smartly constrained freedom.

Could it be a Straight Shota Incest Adult game? No, if I plan to ship it on itch.io . However, you could spin it however you want. It seems like the incest parts of the games are alittle too much for the platform recently, hopefully it shall pass with time.

The game is about 60% there, maybe more. It's not as big and or as detailed as Cruise Quest was, and not as small as the older games. On one hand I am quicker with development, doing things I did for a long time with lots of recycled infrastructure, on the other, I am way more limited on time.

In my head I still have plans to make a "western - styled" rail shooter / sandbox game, and a medieval fantasy RPG game, but they will probably (if ever) come AFTER CCTV3 of course.

The recent turn of events on itch.io resulted in a serious drop of impressions for my games. Which makes living from it, less possible. I'm still trying, but can't promise I will continue if things stay as they are. You could contribute by interacting with the posts, games comments , and adding them to your collections instead of chatting in the discord, for example. That might help here.

Anyways, see you soon and again for the next update.
