Developer Log #32: Can't Scare Without Skill

Happy Halloween! It's exactly just that one day where getting candy from strangers is perfectly fine.

Anyways, back to Slice of Them. With less than a month before its demo release on November 20th, I am now much more serious with taking this as my priority. Might actually need to sacrifice a few hours or days of actual schoolwork to finish and at least polish the majority of it.

I think i have taken my Demo release into 3-4 updates. These include the following:

  1. Combat and Skill Revamp, Balance, and Lore
  2. Character and Kingdom Lore and Story Deepening
  3. Training, Point distribution, and balancing
  4. Music, Sound Effects, and flow.

Of course, these will all come with various bug fixes that I may find, or from other players who decide to play.

Otherwise, I have a few things to show that I've been able to make! Aside from the animations, I have also worked on some parts, which include skill effects. AKA, the skills have a use now!

These are some small effects that I've made so far, and they are all animated to make some kind of effect. For now, 5 of them work, and I plan to make another 3 work by next week. Then I plan to work through the turn-based mechanics for the actual battle itself.

Otherwise, I will continue to work diligently to get this all to hopefully work to my best of my ability. Happy Halloween again guys! Get some candy and chill out for Friday.

YouTube supports more content-related issues, such as sneak peeks and trailers. Hope you find those interesting. I'll plan to have a Discord soon. Not sure when, but soon.
