Spooktober 2025 - Week 2 & 3 Devlog

Hey all! We're currently approaching the final week of Spooktober 2025,  so we thought we'd update you all on how progress is coming along. First of all, if you've seen our last post then you already know this but for those who don't, we've named our game jam game! The title is...

Miya - Your Desktop Companion!

As well as the title, we have a release date! We're hoping to release the game on September 30th. We've been working very hard for the past 3 weeks, so we hope you all enjoy what we've made! Now let's start talking through the specifics.

Miya - Your Desktop Companion is a short digital horror experience taking place on a virtual desktop. A mysterious link on an image board takes you to strange website offering you a moe desktop assistant, Miya. Her new Companion Mode offers something no one could ever refuse: A friend. Let Miya get to know everything about you, and she'll become your best buddy! I won't say anything else as to not give anything away, but there's so much more that we can't wait for players to learn. The game is under an hour in length due to the short development time. but we're hoping to expand on the game with cut content and added story elements once the game jam is over, giving players the definitive experience.

As for actual development, we're nearly done! All that's left are a few CGs and some audio which will be completed in the coming days. I couldn't be prouder of the team for getting so much work done in such a short amount of time. They really are the driving force of MIYASof! Programming is coming along great too. There's not much of the actual game I can show to you all yet, but it's looking amazing so far.

It's so bizarre to say, but we're now just over a week away from releasing our very first game. We couldn't be more excited to show off what we've made, so I hope you all look forward to and enjoy it! :)
