Can't download Game on Mac

Hello, when I try to download the Mac version of the game through the Itch.io app it says "An error occured during installation rar. An entry cannot be decompressed". Downloading the game via the website instead gives me a rar file i can extract to get an application, but I'm unable to open said application. Does anyone know of any solutions?

I am getting the same error as swiggityswoggity. I even tried following another itch comment thread for people with a similar issue: https://itch.io/t/1069538/doesnt-work-on-mac

Did both of the things mentioned in this thread and it now works, thank you. Also if anyone runs into this thread, note that after the fix you might need to quit the app the first time you launch it and then open it again. Also note that you'll have to download the .rar online, as the Itch app won't let you download it as it is.
