  • I like the premise and challenge to this game, and I can see how building these bridges ties in with the theme for the jam! Although not an altogether unique concept, the two items you use to build are clearly defined and work well. The visuals are quite appealing - it feels like you used the jam's color palette, and it works well. I like the main character's design, it's very simple and animated well. Good choice of music and sound effects, too. The game overall plays smoothly, I didn't have any lag or crash issues. I was able to be a little creative and I came up with some horrendous bridges while playing! However, the placement of items can be a bit imprecise, and I'd often just fiddle with placement by moving a few pixels this way or that to try and drop the bridges in the right place. This meant the game quickly became a bit repetitive and tedious for me as I kept just making piles of resources in order to not fiddle each way, or just so I can get the size I wanted (it being randomized made the job a little less fun again). It meant that often I'd be stuck not because I didn't know what to do, but because I had to find the right pieces and move very precisely. The ball/orb was an interesting way to make the levels harder. I liked that challenge. I also liked its animation. Overall, I think the game does a lot of things very well, and plays smoothly. I think it's a very solid game to have made in the jam. I just wish the placement was a little more dynamic or interesting so I could feel more satisfied when I moved through the level. Checkpoints, or interactive objects may help with that joy of doing a job well as you progress.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I can't take credit for the music, however, as they were free assets provided by PeriTune.
