Don't know if anyone else is being effected. But in 3.0a i'm having a lot of "Phantom talking"
So  i wont be talking or my mic will be muted but my tuber is moving their mouth, sometimes like crazy XD

Happens in 2.0 as well, but not as much.

Yes!! I've been having this issue too and it's driving me crazy. I have no idea what's causing it, so I'm at least glad I'm not the only one. (It's otherwise a fantastic app, especially for the price! I just wish I knew how to fix this)

Yes that is happening to me as well. I tried the stable version instead and it was OK touch wood.

yup, obs shows no audio incoming on mic, but its still flappin

A little observation on this issue (I do have it as well with 3.x) - it only happens if the HONK window is fully covered.
An easy test to reproduce it is to have HONK and OBS on the same screen - everything works, then maximize OBS so it covers HONK and a moment later my model starts chattering.

i get the mouth stuck open or not working at all, no idea how to fix it and makes my streams look so bad when it happens :(

i have this issue as well, one  method of resolving this is to synchronise your mic gain in honk to the mic gain in obs/ streamlabs. I found that obs (specifically) can desync audio and distort the output audio whilst the microphone sounds fine outside of the application.

when i test my mic in HONKS application it looks perfectly fine with no phantom talking effect even with typing, but when streaming with my desktop audio it sometimes desyncs or phantom talks in OBS

your mic could  possibly be picking up your keyboard strokes /ambient sound/ desktop game sound which  could be the reason why your model's mouth is being triggered and creating phantom talking.

the way that i have improved but not eliminated the issue is to reset my audio settings in OBS, whilst raising and lowering the gain in HONK

ive even had my model lip sync the game audio dialogue and my own mic at the same time, so this might be an issue of microphone devices and audio devices inside of OBS defaulting to a mic or device that is not the one selected in HONK

Just bought the software, had this happen. Seems to happen when looking at certain software while others are playing in the background.
My example, I was working on Hexels (art program), while having youtube up in the background. It also happened when trying to play The Division.

Not sure how the software is picking up audio from software, but it's still sadly an issue.

Update: After some fiddling around, it's not picking up audio from other software, it's just doing the Phantom Talking™ on its own. However, I think it may have to do with multiple monitors. If I have said program (example, Hexels) on the main primary screen, the avatar starts going off on it's own. If I have the software open on a different monitor though, it behaves. If I move my primary monitor to a different one, the issue seems to go away for the most part, excluding a few minor glitches? I'll continue fiddling with it to see if I can't find a work-around until an official fix can be had.

This is an older thread, I know, but some people i referred to this software still have the same problem, the one by QwertyTheFerret  is the one that fixed it, but other fixes I've found online included wire crossing (interference can cause it) The software window being on a different monitor, or it being covered completely. Hope it helps, otherwise love the software. :D
