Gallery Goal - "Beating One of Everything"

I'm attempting to get through all the Gallery Goals (again), and having trouble with a few of the goals that I remember having trouble with back in the day, in particular, #14 "Variety Pack", earned for "beating one of everything" - there's some monsters that just don't tally up as beaten despite you beating them in-game, in particular the LoonyBot 5000. Does anyone who's conquered all the Gallery Goals, and worked their way through that problem, have any advice/workarounds on how to tackle that?

Because the LoonyBot 5000 body is invincible, it’s not counted against you for that gallery goal. There may be another monster you are missing.

If you want to post your .prf file, I can take a look and see what monster it is.

Where's that located? it's been awhile since I've "gone deep" into this... I got to the DrLunaticSupreme folder, I would have assumed it was under either "user" or "profiles", the latter only has DeleteMe, even after I turn on show hidden files :\ is there somewhere else it might be?

The other possibility I'm wondering about is it could be a Reverse Roly Poly (the counterclockwise variety; I've killed plenty of clockwise ones), and I don't know of any levels that include those, that ALSO equip you with the means to kill them.

There is another possible location. Type in %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore to Explorer and look for the profile somewhere in there, probably approximately in Program Files (x86)\DrLunaticSupreme\profiles.

VOILA! linked here.

Other than missing some monster, of the dozen goals left, half of them revolve around the World Hunger statue (i.e. just grinding for coin), and the other half are the minigames (ugh, frustrating... any tips on the net game other than "practice"?)

Developer

It is indeed only the Reverse Roly Poly that you are missing. I think the thing to do would be to find one and use a cheat like Ultra Hammer Up to get the firepower to defeat it. I don’t really have any tips on the minigames… I recall the net game involving some amount of luck. I think I ended up grinding coins using Who Doesn’t Want To Be a Moron.

I'm also trying to get through without cheats, so there's that >_< and creating my own world in order to scan missing monsters worked for the "scan" goal, but for some reason self-created worlds don't count towards the coin or "defeat monsters" goal... oh well X3 keep looking for a level with one that includes powerups I guess, thanks for the confirmation ^^

and yeah, years ago I also used Moron for coin, I might end up doing that again but there's some good levels that give you crazy coin as well.

UPDATE: found a level with both the elusive Reverse Roly Poly and the weapons to kill it! the world is Bouapha's Excellent Expedition, the level is Magic Mirage, bottom right corner. Dusty Desert had a number of levels that contained them, but they were all stealth/no-weapon levels.

Hi,

I know this topic is over 2 years old, but I need help with the 10th gallery goal about getting 100 points on the Net game.

I played the game that comes up where you circle things when you click "Internet", assuming that was the Net game (short for Internet), but even after I properly circle the dots zooming across the screen they ignore it and I get 0 captures and 0 points every single time I click the screen lightly to not make a circle (IE click without dragging).

Does anyone know how to actually capture the pesky things zooming across the screen if circling them and clicking on them directly doesn't work, or am I playing the wrong game (I would assume I'm not because there are no games called "the Net game" in the Mall mini games, and "Net" is commonly short for "Internet")

That is the net game. Here are some tips:

  • You shouldn’t close the net yourself - you should let go of the mouse to complete the shape.
  • The net will fizzle out if it hits itself, if a dot crosses it, or if you let go without any dots being inside the net.
  • The score per net is the number of dots caught, squared. The best way to score is to catch many dots at once.
  • Dots appear and move somewhat randomly, so there is an element of luck.
  • You can wait until you see a good situation to make the first capture and start the timer.
