the mac version is from 2016 which means its a 32 bit game but modern macOS suports 64 bit games which means you cant plays this on mac unless the developer updates the game to 64 bit
it's possible to play, you just need third party software. I used Unarchiver, and it worked just fine (you will need to go to privacy/security in settings and allow the app to be downloaded), and am happily playing on my MacBook Air
not sure if it works on Intel Macs, but it should work for silicon.
