On the one hand, the AI of the allies is incredibly stupid. Either they don't follow you, or they stand right in your path, OR, as in this case: they don't sneak around and pull enemies the moment you get anywhere near them. I've tried this mission 20 times now and can't get Gray Rat and his wife out of the room.

Has anyone here actually managed to complete this quest without taking any damage, and if so, how on earth?! Gray Rat can take down almost all the enemies, but not all of them, and if you try to rush through, the NPCs are too dumb to follow you, so you can't escape unless everyone is with you. It's impossible to defeat all the enemies before the reinforcements arrive. Defeating the reinforcements with Gray Rat and his wife is also out of the question.

Holy shit, what a poorly designed quest...

It is easy to finish the quest without letting Cecily get hurt if you are aiming that for the gold coin. Here is what you need to do.

Make sure everyone stay in the room first where Cecily is captured without trigger the alert of the enemies.
Use Rally Trumpet or ask Gray Rat to follow you to lead him to the only exit of the room. Then ask Grey Rat to wait which allow him to block on the exit of the room.
In the mean time, lead Cecily to the corner of the room and ask her to wait. Do not let her stay right behind Grey Rat since the enemies can attack 1 tiles behind Grey Rat.
(Optional) use Throw to drag the enemies to the mines to reduce their number first, it is easy to kill at least 2 of them and make 1 injury badly. As long as Lona and Grey Rat are not in battle, Lona is able to walk pass Grey Rat without be blocked by him. You can walk back to the room when you are done.
use Throw to drag the enemies to trigger the alert and start the battle. Just stay in the room and let Grey Rat do all the work. Grey Rat has a tons of HP and allow him to take down the enemies one by one as long as the battle is 1v1. Including the reinforcements.
After take down all enemies. Just leave by walking to the front door.

The quest is pretty easy and I think that it is well design as long as you are using the right strategy. It is pretty hard if you and the allies just ran out and fight without any strategy. OFC 3 man can't defeat a bunch of enemies without strategy.

Thanks, bro. I tried it 10 more times and actually managed to do it. I’d actually tried your exact method a few times before writing this, and I thought it couldn’t be the solution—but thanks again for your comment. It worked, and I’m motivated to keep going again.
