Searching for old Kolibri Flash Game

Hello Rasekh,

I’m despeately trying to find a browser/Flash game I loved playing as a kid (around 2010), and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere.

It looked very similar to your game, it was also about a Kolibri maneuvring through the djungle. Since the games look so similar, I thought maybe you know  the game and could help me find at least a prove of it`s existence. If you can help me I would be very thankful.

Description of the game:

Here’s what I remember:

  • You play as a hummingbird
  • The game is 2D, side view, but you can freely fly in all directions (not just jumping like a platformer)
  • There is an energy/stamina bar that constantly drains, and you have to drink nectar from flowers to keep flying
  • There are hazards like carnivorous plants that try to snap at you
  • The game has multiple levels/worlds:
    • First level: jungle
    • Second level: desert / ancient Egypt theme (Never reached LV 3)
  • There was a tutorial/training level at the beginning

Story: I think a can flies out of an airplane, and on it there is an image of a female kiwi bird (from New Zealand). The hummingbird sees it and “falls in love,” and then the goal is to travel to New Zealand.

Thank you

Hello Marcel

I am sorry for my late reply, but thank you for your post!

Unfortunately, I honestly don't know of any other hummingbird game that matches your description. My game was created as a student project and was made with a lot of passion, so it's fascinating to hear that there may have been a similar game years ago.

I hope that one day I'll be able to develop this idea into a full game with beautiful visuals, where players can both learn about nature and enjoy a relaxing gameplay experience.

I have actually just released the second version of the game, which focuses on different power-ups and gameplay progression in my same home page here, link: Kolibri 2 by Rasekh .

I hope you enjoy trying it out!

Sincerely,

Rasekh
