I played through the the "end" and did the Uber boss a few times, improving my team as I went. Here are some observations I hope will be useful.
- I love the GGG have allowed you to use the imagary, itemisation approach - it makes the gave familiar from the start and enables you to get straight into constructing builds. Must have taken ages to get to this level of behind the scenes complexity.
- I like the 2D auto-battle area with the movement etc. Useful to see "stupid" behaviour of your team. Would be nice to differentiate the characters more clearly (colours you choose?) or falg one of them that you want to focus your improvements on.
- Will be nice when there is more info after the battle, as you are already planning in your TODO
- I'd like a help section that lists the classes with their features so you can plan a team. Especailly as you do not seem to be able to expel a team member once your roster is full
- There is no storage slot for the Vaal Orbs so they have to occupy your stash, unlike the other currency
- Nice progression as you play the game
- It was not obvious when you "complete" chapter one. Took me ages to realise why I was stuck doing low level missions and discovered the area dropdown suddenly had another option. There needs to be some "achievement" and noticable moment.
- I like the profiles approach; oaf, dancer etc.
- As the game expands to more acts/areas it will need a guide like quests/achievement system or it could feel like more of the same
Minor points:
- Text often gets cut off in the display boxes e.g. characters trimmed off a the bottom (on 2560x1440 full screen), and larger numbers of currency overflow the field so display on two lines instead of one.
- Font rendering can be a bit chunky as the game is so early
- Seems odd to have a grid of six characters in the centre when the team is only five. Would it be better to drag the five you need from the storage at the side?
- Took me a while to realise how Vitality worked and why a character never seemed to recover any. Perhaps a tool tip expansion.
