Very low framerate now after short game break?

Fixed!!!: Solution- Open Registry Editor, look for the Enterbrain folder in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ then delete it. Files are likely corrupted. Restart pc, and reinstall game for good measure, launch game, fixed.

Played demo a tiny bit awhile ago, same pc and everything and wanted to try demo again before buying the game, game is now running very slowly and very low framerate 1-4fps. took about 30min before i could get to the reaper for him to start talking. I've restarted pc, turned everything off, set cpu priority and affinity, checked gpu, turned off everything on pc but game, no luck. Also uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Any advice on why this might be happening? I'm using the itch.io app and thats the only system application that has any relevance to the game that has had an update?

Edit: also i have done the _ResetRMsetting.reg. Game is also always in windowed mode by default, i think 680x480? which I saw in faq and led me to check that setting reset. Have also taken to just launching game by its .exe instead of through the itch.io play button.

I have also tried the older outdated demo version too and same issue. I know the demo hasnt been touched in awhile so its something on my end but virtually nothing has been downloaded or changed on my pc from back when i initially tried the demo. :( It is also currently just this game, other itch.io games are working fine still.

use the games built in fullscreen mode as for like low framerate i have no idea i just know it doesn't happen on current unless you are on wine without gamescope

I dont know what wine or gamescope is unfortunately , but i can change it to fullscreen from in game and it works perfectly fine. I do wanna buy the game but just want to be able to play it a little first before i go and make a subscribestar account and everything.

Oh my fucking god I fixed it!!!!. I had to go into my registry editor and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Enterbrain\RGSS3 or rather  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and delete the Enterbrain folder. I guess something in there got corrupted. Restart pc (also redownloaded game just for good measure again) launch, and its fine now.

must have been a key that enforced a slow framerate from another game

Hmmm, the very low framerate/lag issue is back and the Enterbrain folder is still deleted from my registry? I guess a new one was never created when i restarted the game? Well... im at a loss now, I was able to play the game for a few days again havent launched any new rpg maker games or anything.

Edit:  reinstalling the RPG Maker VX Ace Run Time Package from rpgmakerweb seems to have fixed it.
This is... very annoying, but at least im finding solutions if anyone else is struggling with this XD
