I went into this with 0 game dev experience and I had also never played granny. I have been trying to get what I have submitted for a few hours now and it is pretty hard. I was finally able to get the project packaged successfully and I was able to open and play it from the actual package file. Then I saw it has to be playable in browser but I have not been able to get that to work with unreal. I got the plugin that apparently is needed but then the project failed to package. I ended up just going with the original version but I am not able to play the downloaded version from the website....... This is frustrating. But I did what I could. I don't think it will be playable for anybody and I have no idea how to fix that. I'm sure it is disqualified for not being in browser plus I can't even get it to work. Couldn't even upload the screenshot I wanted for the thumbnail because it is like 3 times too large of a file..... This was pretty much just a complete and epic failure on my part but I did what I could and submitted what I had even if it isn't working in the slightest.... woohoo...

馃挏 Sorry you had some issues -- Yeah it does technically have to be disqualified BUT I'll make a community post here with all the games that fall outside of the jam's timeline or rules (within reason, which yours is)

Nice work on getting into making a game with 0 experience! Honestly super impressive.

Maybe I'll put an Unreal Engine disclaimer in the rules next time. Also even if it's downloadable I can still try to run it for the showcase on October 10th!

For sure! I will keep messing with it because I can't get it to work after downloading. I'm not sure if that has to do with the download or the upload, but I will keep trying to get it to work. Honestly there's not even really anything to play to begin with 馃ぃ I have 2 rooms, 2 doors that don't move, a staircase with no texture on it. Ugh..... I set it up to have 2 floors but didn't get the main one finished. So the stairs go to a flat pad of nothing.

Maybe I'll look for videos on YouTube. When I package the project and open the folder it goes into, I can literally open up the "application" file and run around in the game. So that is the file I uploaded. But then when I download that file and try to open it, it fails to open. So I uploaded with all of the comment in the folder and it made no difference. I'm not sure what the issue is between the downloaded file and the one I have on my PC. Or do I need to do a zip folder and upload that???

Hmm yeah try a zip file? That's what I see most uploaded games as

I did that and I think it worked! (Not that I have anything to really play at all but it's there)

Yesssss! Glad to hear it  馃コ馃帀

Now join the queue if you haven't already 馃榿 https://hypergame.dev/queue-gamelike

Can't wait to see what's there. Even a little is a lot more than not having tried at all. Good job.

Okay I will do that!
