some kind of compass would work fine, also maybe give platforms that are in the dark a little glowing outline to help with platforming

Id have to concur, the recently added level is VERY much so. It has an incredibly confusing layout, and on top of that there are points where it gets VERY punishing if you dont make a jump properly.
