Hey just a little suggestion but I think you shoul add a rule against ai tools for text or image generation. I think it is in the spirit of our hobby and a respectful gesture  towards writers and artists. :)

Hey warenunförmig thanks for reaching out you bring up a valid concern that is often voiced in the OSR community. I believe that if someone wants to use AI artwork or text then they usually are offering a lesser product or at the very least a disingenuous one. However that being said there are lots of other arguments for the other side as well so we cannot call it out across the board. The good news is that this game jam requirement is all entries must be free. So the rule for this jam will be: If you or someone you love  are using AI in their submission please at least let people know so they can make informed decisions on the media they are consuming.

Hey thanks for the quick response. I can see that you'd prefer not to take a stand for or against ai art. my concern is primarily that the jam will suffer from being flooded by ai slop. Something that is very much happening on dtrpg, lulu etc. And with the amount of attention MB gets from being nominated for Ennies, it would be a good principled stance to take.

Because I do not know which arguments there are in favor of ai use except for minor things like spell checking or translation assistance for non native speakers.
Writing your own text is the whole point of it, not only the result but the doing. Public domain art is also very available, especially for the theme of MB. I think we should encourage people to try and learn drawing and writing (I can't draw or write particularly well).

It is up to you but I also don't think it is that controversial. It's in my experience only the chuds who insist on ai art. Everyone else dislikes it anyways. So yeah might be a bit of signalling but why not? We should keep our hobby DIY. :)

It's a bit disappointing to know that handwritten and laid out submissions might be entered alongside low-effort auto-generated text and AI 'art'. If you believe it's disingenuous, why not just ban it? Encourage people to pick up new skills and try new things.
